Snabba fakta: Det största torget i Novi Sad är över 300 meter långt och rymmer upp till 30 000 personer vid konserter. Varje år hålls här mer än 50 kulturevenemang, från festivaler till politiska demonstrationer.
Höjdpunkter: Mitt på torget står statyn av Svetozar Miletić, som under den ungerska ockupationen 1941 kastades ner från sin piedestal och överlevde endast tack vare att lokalbefolkningen gömde den i en källare. Under torgets stenbeläggning döljer sig ett system av underjordiska gångar som en gång förband stadshuset med den närliggande kyrkan.

- Take photos early in the morning, when the square is empty and the light is soft.
- Avoid the midday heat in July and August, the pavement radiates heat like a stove.
