Snabba fakta: Its planetarium projects 100,000 stars across a 15-meter domed ceiling, making it one of the largest immersive screens in the Canary Islands. The building itself was once a 19th-century tobacco warehouse, repurposed into a four-floor science playground where over 70 interactive exhibits let you touch almost everything.

Höjdpunkter: On the third floor, an actual Boeing 747 flight simulator lets you take the controls with real cockpit instruments, and trained pilots walk you through takeoff and landing over the volcanic landscape. You can also watch a pendulum swing that changes direction throughout the day, silently proving the Earth's rotation with every sway.

• Book the flight simulator in advance at the front desk as soon as you arrive, since only a handful of sessions run each day
• Head straight to the planetarium for the first show of the day to get the best seats under the dome
• Bring a sweater because the science halls are heavily air-conditioned even in summer
• Skip the crowded main staircase and take the smaller elevator by the entrance to avoid peak flow between floors
