General entry costs 7 EUR, with free admission on Wednesdays and Sundays after 4:00 PM (closing at 6:30 PM). The Madrid City Pass or Paseo del Arte card does not include this museum, but students and seniors get reduced rates.

Snabba fakta: Över 6 miljoner exemplar fyller samlingssalarna, från dinosauriefossil till glittrande ädelstenar. Museets stjärnattraktion, en 14 meter lång replika av ett Diplodocus-skelett, välkomnar besökarna direkt i entréhallen.
Höjdpunkter: Ett rum rymmer skelettet av "Big Bertha", en 40 ton tung afrikansk elefant som en gång levde i Madrids zoo, tillsammans med ett kusligt komplett Megatherium-sengångarfossil från Argentina. Valgalleriet hänger upp ett 20 meter långt fenvalsskelett i taket, så att du kan gå direkt under jordens näst största djur.
Insidertips
- Head straight to the Biodiversity Hall on the top floor first, it's the most impressive and least crowded early in the day.
- Touch the 100-kilo meteorite in the Minerals Hall, it's one of the few exhibits you're actually allowed to handle.
- Skip the crowded ground floor T. rex area on weekends and save it for the last 30 minutes before closing.
- Photography without flash is permitted everywhere, the whale skeleton hall has great lighting around 2:00 PM.
