Höjdpunkter: The Gal Vihara rock temple features four Buddha images carved from a single granite face, including a 14-meter reclining Buddha with a surprisingly serene expression that seems to shift as sunlight moves across the stone. At the Royal Palace complex, you can still see the 30-meter long audience hall supported by carved stone columns, where 12th century kings once hosted visiting dignitaries from as far as China.
