Quick facts: An Art Nouveau masterpiece completed in 1910, during its heyday members of the Romanian royal family and European aristocrats came here to dance. The building has been used as a military hospital and as a restaurant before falling into obscurity for decades.
Highlights: Look closely at the facade: you will find dozens of sea creatures, from crabs to jellyfish, hand-carved into the limestone. Imagine a summer evening in the 1920s, with waltzes flowing out of the hall and the sea breeze mingling with the scent of perfume.

- Arrive no later than 9 AM to avoid the summer tourist crowds.
