Go in the late morning on a weekday, when tour groups haven't arrived and shopkeepers have time to demonstrate their craft. Spring and autumn offer comfortable temperatures for the uphill walk to the castle.

Entry to the bazaar street itself is free, with the castle museum above charging around 300 lek per adult. Haggle politely on copper and wool items, and expect prices at the top of the lane near the castle to run 20 to 30 percent higher than at the lower shops.

حقائق سريعة: يتبع البازار المرصوف بالحصى مساراً على جانب تل شديد الانحدار ينتهي مباشرة تحت أسوار قلعة كرويه التي تعود للقرن الخامس عشر، حيث صمد البطل القومي سكندربغ ذات يوم ضد الحصارات العثمانية. تصطف أكثر من 300 ورشة حرفية تقليدية على هذا الممر الذي يبلغ طوله 250 متراً، مما يجعله واحداً من أفضل شوارع الأسواق العثمانية حفظاً في ألبانيا.
النقاط البارزة: لا تزال معظم الأكشاك تعمل من واجهات المتاجر الحجرية الأصلية التي تعود للقرنين السادس عشر والسابع عشر، والعديد منها يحمل قضباناً حديدية ومصاريع خشبية لم تُمَس لقرون. لا يزال الباعة هنا يطرقون الأواني النحاسية يدوياً في نفس ورش العمل التي استخدمها أجداد أجدادهم، لذلك يسمع الزوار رنين المعدن على المعدن الثابت يتردد صداه على طول الممر.

- Wear sturdy shoes with grip, the old cobblestones get slick and uneven, especially after rain.
- Visit the lower end of the lane first for better prices, then browse upward toward the castle so you end the walk at the scenic gate.
- Ask to see the back rooms of copper shops, many keep older hand-hammered pieces separate from the newer machine-made stock.
- Stop for a glass of boza or a cup of Turkish coffee at one of the tiny cafés halfway up, the people watching from those terraces is excellent.
