حقائق سريعة: يقع المتحف في مبنى مذهل يعود للقرن التاسع عشر كان في السابق مدرسة ثانوية للبنات، ويضم أكثر من 100 ألف قطعة أثرية تغطي 8000 عام من التاريخ. من أبرز مقتنياته كنز باناغيوريشت الذهبي، وهو مجموعة من تسعة أوان ذهبية تراقية مصنوعة بدقة يزيد وزنها الإجمالي عن 6 كيلوغرامات.
النقاط البارزة: يخفي فناء المتحف أرضية فسيفساء صغيرة أصلية من القرن الرابع من فيليبوبوليس القديمة، لا تزال مدفونة في المكان الذي عثر عليها فيه أسفل المبنى. يمكنك الوقوف على منصة زجاجية مباشرة فوق الفسيفساء، ومشاهدة ضوء الشمس وهو يتحرك عبر آلاف الحجارة الملونة الصغيرة التي سار عليها الناس لأكثر من 1600 عام.

- Photography is allowed without flash, but the gold treasure room has dimmer lighting to protect the artifacts, so adjust your camera settings beforehand.
- Combine your visit with a walk through the adjacent Ancient Theatre of Philippopolis, just a 5-minute stroll uphill.
