- At noon, take shelter in the coolness of St. Mary's Church on the square; the interior is 10°C cooler than outside.
- Wear sneakers with stone-grip soles; shoes with smooth soles are slippery on the centuries-old paving.
- Skip the souvenirs at the main entrance; the little shop in the alley leading to the lighthouse has the same items for half the price.
