حقائق سريعة: تحمل ثلاث مواكب يومية أشكالا مختلفة للإله فيشنو عبر ممرات المعبد، كل منها يرتدي حريرا وجواهر مميزة لطقوس الصباح والظهيرة والمساء. يرتفع غوبورام المعبد الذي يعود للقرن الحادي عشر بارتفاع 35 مترا، مغطى بأكثر من 500 شكل منحوت تروي قصصا من الأساطير الهندوسية.
النقاط البارزة: على عكس أي معبد آخر لفيشنو، يتحول إله واحد هنا ثلاث مرات يوميا إلى أوضاع مختلفة: مستلقيا كرنغاناثا في الصباح، وجالسا كيوغا ناراسيمها عند الظهيرة، وواقفا ككودال أزهار في المساء. يجذب تحول منتصف النهار حشودا يشاهدون الكهنة وهم يعيدون ببراعة توزيع أذرع التمثال وحليه ليتحول إلى شكل أسد بشري مخيف في غضون دقائق.

- Skip the crowded main entrance and enter through the eastern gateway for a quieter first impression of the carved gopuram.
- Arrive by 11 AM to secure a good spot near the sanctum for the noon transformation ritual without jostling through crowds.
- Men must remove shirts before entering the inner shrine, so wear an easy-to-remove vest or t-shirt underneath.
- The best photo opportunity is from the second-floor mandapa across the tank, catching the gopuram reflection in the water at golden hour.
