If you wanna see crocs active, go early morning like 7am before the big tour boats roll in. Way quieter and the guides are more relaxed and will let you take your time.

Bring cash in small bills. Most places around Black River township don't take cards and ATMs run out on weekends. Also skip the big restaurant near the square, walk over to the fish market for real local prices.

Black River was way more laid back than I expected. We only spent two nights and honestly that was perfect. Got some decent jerk chicken from a roadside stall near the bridge, can't remember the name but it was fire.

We went during rainy season and got caught in a proper downpour during the boat tour. The mangroves were cool but the crocodiles were just sleeping the whole time. Kinda overhyped if I'm being honest.

The food here surprised me. Had some curried goat at a little spot called something like Big Mama's. No frills, plastic chairs, but damn it was good. Weather was hot as hell though, bring a fan.
