حقائق سريعة: كانت الشوارع المنحدرة تستخدم يوماً كطريق رئيسي لنقل شحنات الفحم من المناجم القريبة، وما تزال الواجهات الخشبية تحمل لافتات مرسومة باليد من عصر ميجي. يبلغ عدد المباني المرممة نحو 30 مبنى على طول الطريق، ويضم الكثير منها الآن ورشاً للزجاج ومخابز تعمل منذ أكثر من قرن.

النقاط البارزة: ابحث عن صنبور إطفاء الحريق الحديدي العتيق على شكل باغودا بالقرب من قمة المنحدر، وهو أثر من عشرينيات القرن الماضي ما يزال يعمل حتى اليوم. خلال مهرجان الشتاء في فبراير، تصطف مصابيح الزيت على جانبي الشارع لمناسبة "ليلة الشموع"، ويتوهج الحي بأكمله بأكثر من 2000 شعلة متلألئة في مواجهة الثلوج.
