حقائق سريعة: يزدحم نحو 40 كشكاً في ساحة منخفضة حيث استمرت التجارة منذ أن حكمت الإمارة العربية الجزيرة قبل ألف عام. الأسعار هنا تُنادى بصوت عالٍ لا تُعلن، وعملت العائلات نفسها في بعض المواقع منذ أكثر من قرن.

النقاط البارزة: إن "الأبانيّاتا" هي العرض الحقيقي: يصدح الباعة بترانيم أسعار مقفاة ومسرحية تبدو كأوبرا مرتجلة فوق الضجيج. توقف عند رجل "ستيغيولا" الذي يشوي أمعاء الماعز مباشرة على الفحم في برميل حديدي ويقطعها بالمقص، بثلاثة يورو للمخروط.
