حقائق سريعة: تتسلق خمس طبقات من الآلهة المنحوتة برج غوبورام بارتفاع 22 مترًا يهيمن على أفق الحي. وفي عيد تايبوسام، ينطلق آلاف المصلين من هذه الساحات بالذات في مسيرة شاقة، يحمل كثير منهم كوادي ثقيلة مثبتة بالخطاطيف والأسياخ.
النقاط البارزة: في قلب المحراب (القدس)، يجلس الصنم الرئيسي على غارودا الحجري، وهو النسر الذي يُعدّ مركب فيشنو، بأجنحته المتجمدة في منتصف خفقتها فوق مصابيح السمن. وخلال المهرجانات، يزيّن الكهنة التمثال بأكاليل ياسمين طازجة سميكة تزن عدة كيلوغرامات، ويفوح في القاعة كلها رائحة الكافور والفل.

- Circulate clockwise and pause at the gopuram's lower carvings, where the detail is sharpest at eye level.
- For Thaipusam in late January, arrive before 6 a.m. to watch the first kavadi processions depart without the crush.
- Chat with the volunteers at the office if you want to catch a special alankaram, the lavish flower dressing of the deity.
