Datos rápidos: Al andar por senderos sombreados encuentras palmeras tropicales, cascadas dramáticas y estanques llenos de koi que hacen sentir el lugar como una selva oculta. El arte y la historia aparecen por doquier: murales vibrantes de azulejos y una sorprendente colección de minerales y fósiles están escondidos tras la vegetación, creando un contraste juguetón entre la flora salvaje y exhibiciones curadas.
Destacados: Escondidos en las terrazas superiores, docenas de paneles de azulejos pintados a mano narran todo el arco de la historia portuguesa, desde la Era de los Descubrimientos hasta la revolución de 1975. El antiguo pabellón de caza privado del rey João, el propio palacio, se alza sobre una cadena de lagos artificiales donde cisnes negros se deslizan junto a kois gigantes del tamaño de perros pequeños.
