Fatti rapidi: Con una superficie di 5,6 chilometri quadrati, il lago si è formato dallo scioglimento delle acque glaciali circa 15.000 anni fa. Sotto la sua superficie si nascondono 21 isolotti, il più grande dei quali ospita uno dei castelli in pietra più impressionanti dell'Europa orientale.
Punti salienti: La copia di una nave medievale, lunga 15 metri, naviga ogni estate sulle sue acque, offrendo percorsi al suono di remi di legno e canti popolari. Si dice che il lago ospiti una rara specie di pesce, il branzino di Trakai, che si trova solo qui in tutta la Lituania.
