クイックファクト: 桜並木が約2キロメートルの運河沿いの道に続いており、この運河は1600年代に水車小屋や水庭園に動力を供給するために建設されました。この散歩道は京都で最も重要な2つの寺院を結び、歩いていると肩を撫でるほど低く垂れ下がった柳の枝の下を通ります。
見どころ: 北端には小さな木製の橋があり、19世紀の芸妓伝説で、恋を失った後に運河へお気に入りの鏡を投げ入れたとされる場所です。春の朝には、舞い散る桜の花びらが水面に積もり、まるでピンク色の雪の吹き溜まりが流れていくように見えます。
