クイックファクト: ヴィルニュス郊外の7.5ヘクタールに広がるこの植物園には、世界中から集められた1万種以上の植物が生育している。園内の樹木園にはリトアニア最大のシャクナゲのコレクションがあり、毎年春にはピンクと紫の花が鮮やかに咲き乱れる。

見どころ: 植物園の奥にある樹木園には、樹齢200年を超える古い樫の木が立っている。この植物園そのものよりも数十年も古い。言い伝えによれば、夏至の日にこの木の樹皮に触れると幸運が訪れると言われており、訪問者が残した花や硬貨などの小さな供え物が根元に置かれているのをよく見かける。
