クイックファクト: 蛇行するレースト川は州境を成しているため、片方の川岸はもう片方とは異なる州に属しています。冠水した干し草の牧草地と泥炭湿原では、およそ200種の鳥類が記録されています。
見どころ: 5月の夜明け、繁殖期の何百羽ものオグロシギの泡立つような笛の鳴き声が、冠水した牧草地の上を液体のオーケストラのように響き渡ります。古い窪み道をたどると、番号の付いたケイ境界石を通り過ぎます。鉄の先端が付いたそれらの標識は、何世紀にもわたって州の紛争を解決してきました。
