Korte feiten: Als bezoekers op de honingkleurige terrassen stappen, krijgen ze een wijds panoramisch uitzicht en sprookjestorens die prachtig fotograferen tijdens het gouden uur. Zeven kegelvormige torentjes symboliseren de Mgaraanse stammen, en sierlijke bogen, gebeeldhouwde stenen en verborgen hoekjes belonen iedereen die van het hoofdpad afwijkt.
Hoogtepunten: Een grappig feitje: de plek dankt haar naam aan het middeleeuwse vissersgilde dat dat stuk kasteelmuur verdedigde, en het neo-romaanse uitkijkpunt dat je nu ziet, werd ontworpen door architect Frigyes Schulek en gebouwd tussen 1895 en 1902 met zeven kegelvormige torens die de zeven Magyar-stammen vertegenwoordigen. Op het gouden uur warmt de honingkleurige steen onder je palm en bieden de terrassen een ansichtkaartachtig panorama waar de neogotische torenspitsen van het Parlement schitteren over de Donau terwijl het bronzen standbeeld van koning Stefan van Alajos Stróbl het licht vangt.

- Wear sturdy shoes, cobblestones and steep steps are common in the Castle Hill area.
- Arrive before 9am for empty terraces and golden-hour light, or after 6pm for sunset views and cooler temperatures.
- Head to the central archway near the statue of Stephen for the classic Parliament-and-Danube photo.
- If short on time, skip the paid upper tower, terrace views are almost as impressive and free.
