Korte feiten: De toren boven de poort werd niet alleen gebruikt voor de verdediging, maar ook als windmolen om graan te malen. De vestingmuren bevinden zich op slechts enkele meters van het water en bij eb kun je rondom krabben zien zonnen op de rotsen.
Hoogtepunten: Op de binnenplaats van het fort staan nog steeds originele stenen kanonskogels, opgestapeld in hopen uit de 18e eeuw. Ze zijn nooit gebruikt - de verdedigingsstrategie was niet gebaseerd op vuurkracht, maar op de indeling van de muren zodat de vijand vast zou komen te zitten in de smalle doorgangen.

- Before climbing up, stop by the small room under the stairs, where authentic weapons and ceramics are displayed.
- You will get the best photo not from the fortress, but from the wooden bridge over the wadi leading to the entrance.
- There is no air conditioning inside, so during the summer months choose morning hours or bring water with you.
- Near the fortress there is a traditional boat workshop, worth a look before or after your visit.
