Hoogtepunten: Een bosje met meer dan 40 verschillende coniferen soorten vormt een stille wintertuin waar de meeste bezoekers gewoon aan voorbij lopen. Op ijzige ochtenden vangt het zonlicht de dauw op de spinnenwebben die tussen de takken hangen, waardoor het hele bosje gaat glinsteren.

- Enter through the Monks Road gate for the most dramatic view down the main avenue of trees.
- Bring binoculars: the arboretum hosts over 30 species of birds, including green woodpeckers and goldcrests.
- The cafe near the playground is cheapest but closes at 3pm, so grab coffee before heading deeper into the park.
- Skip the main path on weekends and take the shaded side trails for peace and quiet.
