Korte feiten: Een van slechts twee kastelen in het Verenigd Koninkrijk die op de achterkant van de munt van 1 pond uit 1987 voorkomen. De weergang biedt uitzicht over drie graafschappen vanaf een 360-graden verhoogd pad dat pas in 2015 volledig heropend werd voor het publiek.
Hoogtepunten: Diep onder het kasteelgras ligt een Victoriaanse gevangenis die tot 1878 in gebruik bleef, waar gevangenen elke ochtend in een doos konden stappen om gewogen te worden voor gezondheidscontrole. De gevangeniskapel heeft nog steeds haar originele individuele banken die zijn ontworpen als biechtstoelen, zodat gevangenen preken konden horen zonder elkaar te zien. Dit is een van slechts twee overgebleven voorbeelden in Engeland.
