Korte feiten: Verspreid over 36 hectare aan teruggewonnen grindgaten, telt dit natuurreservaat vier meren die het hele jaar door meer dan 180 vogelsoorten aantrekken. Wandelpaden slingeren door bossen, weilanden en rietvelden waar je ijsvogels, libellen en zelfs af en toe een hert kunt spotten.
Hoogtepunten: Drie van de vier meren waren ooit grindgroeven die materialen leverden voor de bouw van de nabijgelegen kathedraal van Lincoln. Je kunt nog steeds de 27 meter hoge weegtoren zien staan als een overblijfsel van het industriële verleden van de locatie, nu omringd door wilgenbomen en wilde dieren.

- Take the wheelchair-friendly Whisby Loop path for the easiest access to lakes, reed beds, and the best bird hides.
- The Moor Lake bird hide gets the best morning light for photography, especially between April and June.
- Bring binoculars even for a short visit: the Lapwing Hide overlooks a shallow scrape where wading birds feed just meters away.
- Visit on a weekday afternoon outside school holidays to avoid the weekend crowds on the main pathways.
