Korte feiten: Gelegen op een rotsachtige uitloper, huisvestte deze militaire vesting ooit een 381 mm kanon dat een projectiel van bijna 900 kilogram meer dan 30 kilometer kon wegslingeren. Het enorme geschut werd nooit in gevechten gebruikt en de structuur biedt nu een van de meest adembenemende panoramische uitzichten over de Ligurische kust die je ooit zult vinden.
Hoogtepunten: De echte magie gebeurt aan het einde van het kronkelende kustpad wanneer je de laatste bocht omgaat: het enorme verroeste kanon draait nog steeds op zijn rails en wijst stil naar zee. Op heldere dagen kun je Corsica aan de horizon zien, en de betonnen bunkers zijn bedekt met wild mediterraan struikgewas en wilde bloemen die in het voorjaar fel geel en paars bloeien.
