Snabba fakta: Mer än 80 000 personer kan be här samtidigt över dess vidsträckta innergård och pelarsalar. Bygget påbörjades i slutet av 1800-talet under en kvinnlig härskare, Nawab Shah Jahan Begum, och fortsatte i etapper under flera decennier.

Höjdpunkter: Gå genom huvudentrén och du möts av en rosa fasad som skiftar ton med solljuset, nästan korallfärgad vid solnedgången. De två höga minareterna, var och en 66 meter hög, ramar in en enorm bassäng där hela moskén speglar sig som en spegel på stilla dagar.

Bring a wide-angle lens or phone with a panorama mode to capture the scale of the courtyard and the full reflection in the pool.
Visit on a Friday around noon to hear the call to prayer echo through the halls, but arrive early as it gets crowded.
Cover your head and remove shoes before entering the prayer hall, scarves are available at the entrance if you forget.
The upstairs galleries offer a quieter viewpoint overlooking the main courtyard and are often overlooked by visitors.
