Late morning on a weekday, when the crowds from the old town have not yet arrived and the light falls through the prayer hall windows. Afternoons can bring tour groups and a more hurried atmosphere.
Entry is typically free of charge, though a small donation for upkeep is welcomed at the entrance. There is no combined ticket with the castles or churches, so you pay nothing extra here besides transport up the hill.

- Remove your shoes before entering the prayer hall and follow the greeting customs of the hosts if they invite you in.
- Ask the caretaker if you may see the sheikh's tomb room, which is often accessible on request during quiet hours.
- Photograph the calligraphy panels and carved ceilings discreetly and without flash to respect the space.
- Combine the visit with a walk down to the Gorica quarter across the river for the best views of the tekke from below.
