Rychlá fakta: Je zde 998 schodů vytesaných do modrého pískovce Modrých hor, klesajících 300 metrů do údolí níže. Schodiště bylo postaveno dělníky z doby hospodářské krize ve 30. letech 20. století za použití pouze krumpáčů a lopat.
Zajímavosti: Uprostřed sestupu tvoří sezónní vodopád přírodní tůně, kde je cítit studená voda stékající mezi prsty, zatímco ozvěna zní mezi pískovcovými stěnami. Během túry narazíte na staré ručně malované cedule označující místa, kde uhelní horníci z 19. století těžili na svazích.

- Wear sneakers with good grip: the steps are uneven and can get slippery with moisture.
- Climb back via the Scenic Railway if you get too tired, but it costs AUD 39 per person.
- Start early (before 9 am) to find the staircase nearly empty with dramatic fog in the valley.
