Rychlá fakta: Sobald man das Gelände betritt, wird man von dem intensiven visuellen Rhythmus der blauen Glasziegeldächer und der symmetrischen roten Mauern angezogen. Am frühen Morgen hört man häufig die Schalmei der Morgensportler und das Atmen des Tai Chi. Auf einer Fläche von über zweihundert Hektar sind eine Reihe von Gebäuden zum Himmelsopfer entlang der Mittelachse angeordnet, wobei zahlreiche Zahlensymbole verwendet werden, um kaiserliche Macht und den Willen des Himmels darzustellen.
Zajímavosti: Das dreistöckige Holzdach des Betongaltars ist ohne einen einzigen Nagel gebaut, die blauen Glasziegel glänzen im Sonnenlicht wie Wellen und man kann aus nächster Nähe den Duft von altem Holz und den Hauch der Zeit wahrnehmen. Wenn man neben der runden Opferplattform hinter der Echo-Mauer leise flüstert, kann der Schall entlang der Mauer mehrere Dutzend Meter getragen werden. Die alten Pekinger prüfen den Echoeffekt oft mit Fächern oder Münzen, die Atmosphäre ist ruhig und wirkt fast wie eine geheimnisvolle Aufführung.
