Rychlá fakta: Kanál ze 17. století byl vyhlouben švédskými válečnými zajatci během dánsko-švédských válek. Podél nábřeží stojí barevné štítové domy, přičemž nejstarší dům pochází z roku 1681 na čísle 9.
Zajímavosti: Většina návštěvníků si nikdy nevšimne malého, soukromého obchůdku s vánočními trhy na čísle 20, který je otevřen celoročně a skrývá se za nenápadnými červenými dveřmi. Hans Christian Andersen žil na třech různých adresách podél kanálu (čísla 18, 20 a 67) a během pobytu zde napsal některé ze svých nejslavnějších pohádek.
