Rychlá fakta: Vnější hradby paláce se táhnou v délce 3 kilometrů a obklopuje je 52 strážních věží. Rekonstrukci paláce v 19. století vedl architekt Viollet-le-Duc, stejný, který přepracoval návrh Sochy svobody.
