Zajímavosti: Wander between the pale marble columns of the restored Stoa of Attalos, rebuilt between 1953 and 1956 with funds from John D. Rockefeller Jr., and you can almost hear merchant voices echoing across the sun-warmed stones. Stand where the Stone of the Twelve Gods once marked the city's zero point, a tiny altar from which ancient Athenians measured distances, and you can trace faint votive inscriptions that feel like gossip from 2,500 years ago.
