Rychlá fakta: Tato katedrála stojí na malém ostrově v jezeře Petén Itzá, na místě, kde kdysi stálo mayské město. Její zasvěcení svatému Pavlovi z Itzy připomíná poslední nezávislé Maye, kteří se zde vzdali Španělům v roce 1697.
