Rychlá fakta: Tento botanický zahrad ve viktoriánském stylu je domem pro více než 2 000 druhů rostlin rozmístěných na 273 akrech a sahá až do roku 1787. Jeho slavný 200 let starý Velký banyan pokrývá 4,4 akru, což z něj činí jednu z největších korun na světě.
Zajímavosti: Velký banyan zde není jen starý, je živým lesem více než 3 600 vzdušných kořenů, které vypadají jako jednotlivé kmeny podpírající jednu masivní korunu. Po úderu blesku a houbové infekci ve 20. rocích 20. století byl původní hlavní kmen odstraněn, přesto strom nadále prospíval a rozšiřoval se, takže se v podstatě stal svým vlastním klonem.
