Zajímavosti: Fresky pocházející z roku 1321, které pokrývají téměř celé vnitřní stěny kostela, vyprávějí biblické příběhy, jako by byly stránkami středověkého komiksu. Oči zobrazení „Krista Všemohoucího" pod kupolí jako by sledovaly návštěvníkův pohled v závislosti na světelných podmínkách.
3. Germia Park

Rychlá fakta: Jeden z největších městských parků na Balkáně se rozkládá na více než 62 kilometrech čtverečních a nabízí rozmanité ekosystémy od hustých lesů až po otevřené louky. Bylo zde spatřeno přes 200 druhů ptáků, což z něj činí vyhledávané místo pro pozorovatele ptactva a milovníky přírody.

Rychlá fakta: Největší osmanská stavba v Prištině, mešita ze 17. století, byla postavena z tesaných kamenů římského města Ulpiana. Působivá kupole mešity se tyčí do výšky 35 metrů a pojme najednou 600 modlících se mužů.
Zajímavosti: U vchodu stojící závratně vysoký minaret se svými 42 metry dominuje horizontu této části města. Uvnitř, pod kupolí, vás přepadne zvláštní pocit, že v polotemné vnitřní prostoře jsou fresky a zlacená kaligrafie tak bohatá na detaily, že je nelze obsáhnout jediným pohledem.
6. Marble Cave

One of Europe's most beautiful underground lakes awaits you, where you can paddle in crystal-clear water. You will boat inside the cave, while calcite crystals glitter above your head.
Rychlá fakta: Jeskyni s podzemním jezerem dlouhým více než 100 metrů byla náhodně objevena v roce 1966, když na chodby narazil místní farmář při kopání studny. Má dvě větší jezera, včetně Křišťálového jezera, které je napájeno vodopádem padajícím z výšky 11 metrů.
Zajímavosti: V jedné z jeskynních síní visí ze stropu tisíce drobných, jehlicově ostrých kalcitových krystalů, které se ve světle lamp třpytí, jako by byl podzemní svět posetý hvězdami. Mezi krystaly se místy střídají minerální vrstvy, které zdobí stěny duhovými pruhy.

Rychlá fakta: The gorge valley, 25 kilometers long and 650 to 1,000 meters deep, is located in the Perjeshát mountain range. The valley was carved out over time by the Peja stream, which has made it one of the best spots for whitewater rafting in the Balkans.
Zajímavosti: In the gorge there is the 642-meter-long Gryka e Rugovës suspension bridge, beneath which a chasm 130 meters deep yawns. Walking across the bridge feels as if you were treading on air, while the roar of the stream echoes between the rock walls.
9. Patriarchate of Peć Monastery

You can walk in one of the holiest places of Serbian Orthodoxy, where four churches were built together into a single monumental unity. Breathtaking 14th-century frescoes, centuries-old liturgical atmosphere, and the monastic silence nestled in the embrace of the mountains await you.

Cash is king here. Many smaller restaurants and taxis don't take cards at all. Hit the ATMs at the airport before heading into town.
The weather in June was perfect. Sunny but not too hot. I imagine winter here would be rough though, lots of gray concrete cities in rain.
Take the shared taxis (furgons) between cities instead of buses. They leave when full, go faster, and cost nearly the same. Way less waiting.
Cheapest European country I've been to. Beer for 1 euro, amazing meals under 5. If you're on a budget this place is a goldmine.
Really mixed feelings. Some parts felt genuinely unsafe at night, but daytime was lovely. The young crowd at cafes gave it good energy though.
