Rychlá fakta: Více než 100 000 artefaktů vypráví příběh litevských obranných sil přes celá staletia, od středověkové zbroje až po moderná expozice o partyzánské válce. Muzeum stojí na místě dřívější kaunaské vojenne centrály, s zevniřšní expozicí, kde jsou tanky, letadla a artilérie kusky, na která děti mohou lézt.

Zajímavosti: V tichém podzemním trezore najdete skutečný rukou psaný deník litevského partyzána, který tři roky žil v lesním bunkeru za sovětské okupace. Strany stále nesou zbytky zemli a voskú od svíček, díky čemu odpor působí strašně hapticky.

Start with the basement level dedicated to the post-WWII partisan resistance, it's the most emotionally powerful section.
The outdoor tank yard is unshaded, bring a hat and water on sunny days.
Photography is allowed throughout, but skip the flash near the sensitive document displays in the partisan vault.
Allow 20 minutes just for the aircraft hangar, which houses a restored WWII-era training plane you can walk around.
