Rychlá fakta: Písečná šíje dlouhá téměř 100 kilometrů slouží jako přirozená hranice mezi klidnou lagunou a Baltským mořem. Oblast je domovem nejvyšších pohybujících se písečných dun na světě, některé dosahují výšky až 60 metrů.
Zajímavosti: Šeptající duny se každý rok pohybují asi o 1,5 metru s větrem, pomalu pohlcují lesy a staré rybářské vesnice. Život zde prospívá s více než 250 druhy ptáků, kteří zde během sezónních přestávek zastavují na tomto úzkém pruhu země.
