Zajímavosti: Na horních terasách vypráví desítky ručně malovaných panelů z azulejos celý příběh portugalských dějin, od věku zámořských objevů až po revoluci v roce 1975. Bývalý soukromý lovecký zámeček krále Jana, samotný palác, stojí nad řetězem umělých jezer, kde černé labutě kloužou po hladině vedle obřích koi kaprů velikosti malých psů.
