Rychlá fakta: Over 300 cavities were carved into the volcanic tuff face of this 80-meter-high cliff, forming the largest pre-Hispanic granary in the Canary Islands. The indigenous Canarios stored barley and wheat here, using the porous stone's natural humidity control to keep grain fresh through the winter.
Zajímavosti: Early Spanish colonizers mistook the hundreds of cave openings for a convent and named it Cenobio, but locals knew it as the island's ancient food bank. Each cavity was sealed with a stone slab and clay, creating individual silos that could hold enough grain to feed entire families through harsh seasons.

- Wear sturdy closed-toe shoes, the path to the entrance involves loose gravel and a steep incline.
- Arrive right at opening time (10:00 AM) to have the wooden walkways almost to yourself.
- Bring binoculars or a zoom lens to spot the smaller cavities high up that you can't see from the walkway.
- Stop by the small on-site museum first, it explains the ingenious ventilation system that kept grain dry inside the rock.
