Rychlá fakta: Více než 6 milionů exemplářů zaplňuje sbírkové sály, od fosilií dinosaurů po třpytivé drahokamy. Největší atrakce muzea, replika 14 metrů dlouhé kostry diplodoka, vítá návštěvníky hned ve vstupní hale.
Zajímavosti: Jedna místnost ukrývá kostru „Velké Berty“, 40tunového afrického slona, který kdysi žil v madridské zoo, spolu s děsivě kompletní fosilií lenochoda megateria z Argentiny. Velrybí galerie zavěšuje na strop 20 metrů dlouhou kostru plejtváka, takže můžete kráčet přímo pod druhým největším zvířetem na Zemi.

- Head straight to the Biodiversity Hall on the top floor first, it's the most impressive and least crowded early in the day.
- Touch the 100-kilo meteorite in the Minerals Hall, it's one of the few exhibits you're actually allowed to handle.
- Skip the crowded ground floor T. rex area on weekends and save it for the last 30 minutes before closing.
- Photography without flash is permitted everywhere, the whale skeleton hall has great lighting around 2:00 PM.
