Spring and early summer bring the most bird activity, with warblers and reed buntings singing from the reeds. Arrive at sunrise for the best chance to see otters and the reserve nearly to yourself.

Rychlá fakta: Tato přírodní rezervace se rozkládá na 90 akrech rekultivovaných štěrkoven a nabízí čtyři jezera, která po celý rok přitahují přes 180 druhů ptáků. Pěší stezky se vinou lesy, loukami a rákosinami, kde můžete zahlédnout ledňáčky, vážky a dokonce i občasného jelena.

Zajímavosti: Tři ze čtyř jezer byla kdysi štěrkovnami, které dodávaly materiál pro stavbu nedaleké Lincolské katedrály. Dodnes můžete vidět 27 metrů vysokou vážicí věž stojící jako relikt průmyslové minulosti tohoto místa, nyní obklopenou vrbami a divokou zvěří.
