Weather's hit or miss, packed for sun but got rain all day during my trip. Don't let that stop you though, the scenery is worth it.
Windermere is beautiful but can get pretty crowded in summer. Stayed 3 days and wished I had more time to explore the lakes beyond the town itself.
Book boat rides early in the morning to avoid long waits and crowds. Late morning trips tend to get packed fast in high season.
Food's decent but pricey, especially near the docks. Found a cozy little bakery off the main street that saved us a few pounds.
Skip the shuttle from the train station, it’s often late. Walk 15 minutes to town instead, feels nicer and quicker.
