Originally a 19th-century merchant neighborhood, the area was officially reborn as Plovdiv's creative hub in 2014 and now hosts weekly street art festivals that draw thousands of locals and visitors.
Highlights: On summer weekends, the entire district closes to traffic and transforms into an open-air canvas where street painters work on mounted boards while live jazz spills from corner cafes. The "Kapana Fest" turns every alley into a performance stage, with 80+ artists creating murals, installations, and pop-up galleries right in the middle of the cobblestone paths.

- Visit on a Saturday morning when the weekly farmers and crafts market sets up in the main square with local honey, handmade ceramics, and fresh produce.
