Quick facts: More than 1,000 artifacts fill this former Dutch colonial bank, spanning ancient gold coins from the archipelago to modern banknotes. Walls up to 2.5 meters thick and a monstrous steel vault door once guarded the cash, while the original brass teller stations still line the hall.
Highlights: Out front, the art deco facade wears a jagged zigzag roofline, a playful crown that most visitors photograph right past. Down in the basement, the original vault door gapes open, daring you to step inside the cold steel chamber where gold reserves once sat stacked.
