- Fair taxi price (official, daytime): 200 MAD - 250 MAD (€18 - €23). Use the official taxi rank outside arrivals. Agree on the fare before getting in or insist the meter runs. Unlicensed drivers approach inside the terminal; refuse them.
- Best alternative: ALSA bus (line 80) from the airport to Place de la Gare / city centre (50 MAD (€4.55))
- Ticket must be validated when boarding the tramway using the machines on the platform. Buses require payment to the conductor or driver at boarding. Keep your ticket until the end of the journey. Fine without a valid ticket: 100 MAD (€9.10).
- Tip 5 to 10 percent in restaurants when no service charge is added. Round up petit taxi fares. Give small tips to porters and guides.
- Some restaurants add a service charge or cover charge to the bill. Check the menu for prices before ordering and review the bill for unexpected extras. Ask before sitting if unclear.
- Use ATMs attached to major banks. Always choose to be charged in Moroccan Dirham and decline dynamic currency conversion. Independent ATMs in tourist areas often charge high fees. Notify your bank before travel as card acceptance can be patchy outside big hotels and chains.
