About

Quick facts: Surrounded by dense forest and small farms, the lake's calm waters stretch over 3.7 square kilometers at the base of lush green hills. Local fishermen still paddle traditional dugout canoes across its surface each morning, a practice that has continued for generations.

Highlights: Unlike Pokhara's larger Phewa Lake, motorboats are banned here, so the only sounds are paddle splashes and birds calling across the water. On weekends, local families arrive with picnics and cook fresh fish right on the shore at small makeshift grills, filling the air with smoke and spices.
