Quick facts: The sandy beach stretches nearly 1.5 kilometers along a crescent-shaped bay with waters so clear you can see the bottom 10 meters out. Three historic wooden changing cabins, called "palazzine," still stand sentinel along the shore from the early 1900s.
Highlights: At sunset, the entire bay catches fire as the sun drops behind Monte Gallo, turning the water into liquid gold for about 15 perfect minutes. Local families have been swimming in these same spots for generations, and the old wooden palazzine still sell fresh lemon granita and sesame seed brioche just like they did in the 1920s.
