Quick facts: A 120-meter cliff drops straight beneath the iron railing, and on clear afternoons the view carries all the way to a distant strip of Mediterranean blue. Cork oaks and feathery palms planted in the early 1800s still shade the walkways today, more than two centuries after the first saplings went in.
Highlights: Walk to the far western corner and the rim splinters into a narrow balcony that seems to float over empty air, with the Guadalevín river glinting deep in the cut and swifts threading through the gap below. Locals swear that on a clear evening you can count 30 mountain ridges stacked toward the horizon, each one reddening as the sun drops.

- Wear grippy shoes, because the stone paving turns slippery with evening dew.
- Skip the crowded center stretch and follow the tree-lined side path for the full vertical plunge view.
