About
Quick facts: More than 2,000 Beatles recordings, photographs, and instruments are spread across two floors of the Albert Dock. The complex also includes a replica of the Casbah Coffee Club, where the band played 292 times before hitting it big.
Highlights: Hidden inside the museum is a single white glove that once belonged to Ringo Starr, displayed under soft light in a glass case near his original drum kit. Visitors can step into a full-scale recreation of the Abbey Road studio, where the control room walls still seem to hum with the ghost of a thousand backing tracks.
Insider tips
- Save your phone battery for the Discovery Zone: you can mix your own Beatles track on a vintage mixing board.
- The audio guide is narrated by John Lennon's sister Julia, adding a personal layer most visitors miss.
- Skip the gift shop on your way in, buy souvenirs at the end when you know exactly what you want.
- Wear comfortable shoes, the exhibition winds through 18 separate rooms with plenty of standing time.
