Quick facts: The Design Museum moved into its current home, a converted 1960s modernist building that once housed the Commonwealth Institute, in 2016 after a £83 million transformation. You'll find over 1,000 objects on display spanning everything from furniture and fashion to typography and digital interfaces.
Highlights: The museum's stunning parabolic copper roof, originally built for the Commonwealth Institute, was carefully preserved and now floods the interior with natural light through a vast atrium. Look up when you walk in: the swooping ceiling creates an almost cathedral-like atmosphere, while the original concrete hyperbolic paraboloid structure remains completely exposed.
