Head one block north of the church to the covered market on Ngu Chi Son street. Focus on the back section where local Hmong and Dao women sell handwoven indigo textiles and silver jewelry. Prices are better here than at tourist shops on the main strip.

Walk downhill from the town center on Cat Cat road; the 30 minute path follows a paved trail through rice terraces to the village entrance. Skip the paid tourist show and instead hike along the stream behind the village to reach a waterfall swimming spot that most visitors miss.

Enter just behind the stone church and climb the stone steps past the orchid garden to reach the Cloud Yard viewpoint. For a quieter spot, take the right fork near the top to a lesser used rocky overlook facing Fansipan peak with no crowds.

The market sets up on Luong Dinh Cua street starting at dusk, about three blocks from the stone church. Browse the grill stalls near the north end where locals queue for cheap grilled skewers and corn on the cob. Look for the elderly Hmong woman selling roasted chestnuts at the corner of Luong Dinh Cua and Xuan Vien.

Walk the valley floor from the Old Stone Church direction following the rice terraces path. Look for ancient rock carvings near the stream crossing.

Search for Silver Waterfall on the O Quy Ho road about 12 km out of town. Enter the viewpoint area for 20,000 VND and climb the steep steps for the best spray view.

Continue north on the same road past Silver Waterfall another 3 km. Enter the forest trail 30,000 VND and hike 15 minutes to the base.

Take the cable car from the station near Sa Pa town (around 600k VND round trip) or if on a tight budget, hike the trail from Tram Ton Pass. The summit views over Hoang Lien Son range are worth the early start. Go on a clear morning for the best visibility.

Take a local bus or motorbike taxi 15km northeast of Sa Pa. Walk through the Red Dao community, visit the local brocade weaving workshops, and look for the old stone church on the hillside. No entrance fee required.

Located near Ta Phin Village, search for the carved stone formations with ancient petroglyphs scattered across the field. These UNESCO-listed relics date back over 2,000 years. Best accessed by walking from Ta Phin along the dirt path.
